Omni-Stand Tutorial (1/144 Zvezda Stuka)

Omni-Stand Tutorial for 1/144th scale Stuka

This tutorial will show you how to attach an Omni-Stand mounting peg to a Zvezda 1/144th scale Stuka.

What you need:

Hobby Knife

Omni-Stand Mounting Peg

Epoxy

The kit is easy to put together. I had some issues with the tail but most of it just snaps together.

Here is the assembled kit.

We are going to attach the mount flush to the model. The model is rather light and the bomb gives a good second point of contact. We could drill a hole but it is not necessary.

First step is to prep the mounting peg. Score the top several times to give it a rough surface for the epoxy to stick to. You can score the miniature as long as your careful not to score to large an area.

Now to mix the epoxy. We use our mixing syringes filled with some Devcon 30 minute epoxy. We recommend epoxy for this because most other option like CA glue are to brittle and not strong enough to give you a permanent hold.

Now we attach the mount close to the center of the plane. We will use the bomb as a second point of contact to give it a stronger hold.

Now we wait for the epoxy to cure. Once that is done the plane is ready for use with the Omni-Stand system. This plane works great with our sphere magnet mounts.
